Often described as the “Garden of Europe,” this breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site is located right on the edge of our region and is an absolute must-see. This massive landscape architecture complex seamlessly blends magnificent architecture with romantic nature. One of the highlights of cycling in the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape is the ability to continue seamlessly into neighbouring Austria. A network of well-marked cross-border cycling routes connects the region with the vineyards and charming wine villages of the Austrian Weinviertel, making it easy to explore two wine regions in a single day.
- Lednice Chateau and the Park: A fairytale-like Neo-Gothic palace surrounded by a beautiful massive park, stunning lakes, and an enormous 19th-century greenhouse. The park also serves as a living laboratory for students and researchers from Mendel University’s Faculty of Horticulture, who use it for education, research, and the study of landscape architecture and historic gardens.
- The Minaret Lookout: For an unforgettable view, take a scenic walk or a romantic boat ride through the chateau park to the isolated Minaret. Standing at 60 meters high, this unique Moorish-style structure serves as an incredible observation tower, offering a panoramic bird’s-eye view over the entire landscape all the way to Austria.
